About Me:
My healing path has had many stages. The first began in my teens, when it became apparent to me that various personal issues had roots in my childhood and I had things I needed to process and heal. I became a vegetarian for three years, I began exploring my spirituality, and I began to teach flying trapeze to the general public besides the Hudson River in NYC. Trapeze gave me confidence, a new sense of inner freedom, and fundamentally changed my life. I was afraid of heights so the first time was absolutely terrifying, but I was amazed at how fast I not only adjusted, but truly came to love it. Through teaching, I found tremendous value in observing similar changes in many of my students. Watching people grow, progressing through the tricks, and eventually training fellow instructors was tremendously rewarding. It taught me how much our environment affects us, and how — with the proper support at the right time — things that sound impossible become just another part of the journey.
Eventually, it felt like I had hit a wall, so I ended up going to school for scientific glassblowing (basically how to make chemistry equipment). I did work in the industry briefly, but I have mostly used my skills to work with artists to fabricate sculptures that have been displayed around the world.
Then along came COVID. I was left without a studio and forced to do some introspection. I still had a lot of issues I had been pushing away by focusing my energy on other people, and through numbing myself with too much cannabis. Over the course of several years I realized I needed to reimagine my relationships (with my family, friends, romantic partners, and myself). The final push was the sudden passing of my beloved cat. It felt like the floor had dropped out of my life, and the depression that I had been barely holding at bay was overwhelming. I had used EFT occasionally for year, but this time I began tapping, and I didn’t stop. After a few months and feeling the results, I realized I missed doing something that felt like making the world a better place in a more direct way. That I missed encouraging and enabling people’s growth, and connecting them with inner resources they didn’t even know they had. So I signed up for the EFT Universe certification program, and embarked on a new chapter.
A few months later, I took my first trip out of the country in 6 years to go to Thailand to study with Grandmaster Chia at the Universal Healing Tao school in Chiang Mai. I had read some of his books in my teens, but doing it in person was totally different. These practices have changed my life, and I find they are supercharged when combined with EFT. What I teach are the fundamentals of how to relax your nervous system, how to bring in positive energy, how to connect with the 5 major organs in Traditional Chinese Medicine, and how to clear out negative emotions that accumulate at the end of a long day. I have found these techniques to be invaluable in building a daily meditation habit, as well as deepening my connection to my body and emotions, and creating a deeper and lasting feeling of wellbeing, and a support system when things get hard.
Now I have: a healthier relationship with my family while still being able to have my own identity, a stable relationship with a loving partner, feel more agency and control over my life than I have ever had before, and hope for the future despite all the darkness that is coming to light.
